My wife and I had a wrought metal style table with a round glass top before we purchased this table. The reason we were looking for something new was 1) we now have three babies and need to make room for everyone to have a place and 2) the table we had was quite wobbly. If you put milk and chocolate sauce in a glass and had someone cut their steak you'd have a perfectly shaken chocolate milk! The solution we needed had to be cheap, had to survive three kids growing up, and it couldn't be wobbly.PROs:Cheap. $400 after shipping for us for 6 chairs and a table. Check. Not Wobbly. The table actually feels quite solid. I put some felt pads on the bottom of the four feet, and honestly when I push the table it feels like the entire thing is one piece. No bowing, flexing, or movement whatsoever (aside from said horizontal displacement attributed to felt pad enabled sliding).Time will tell if it survives three kids. The chairs' covering is like pleather, so at least it's easy to wipe down.Customer service: One of our chairs had a puncture in the seat cushion. After messaging the company, they immediately dispatched another chair, which we received in 2 days. In perfect shape. I couldn't tell how the original chair was punctured since the box was undamaged, but the hole actually traveled through the plywood bottom. It looked like it lost a fight with a bunch of (approximately three hundred) spartans. We are using the damaged chair to hold a baby seat, and after that at least we have a spare chair for emergencies. There isn't a TON of room at this table, but at 6'0" I don't bump my legs or anything, so I consider that a plus.CONs:In stark contrast to the sturdiness of the table, the chairs are rather flimsy. This is where you get what you pay for. Honestly, with 3 kids I almost consider this a pro. Do I really care if one of these breaks? Not as much as I'd care if it cost $400 for each chair. It seems the hardware loosens over time, making them a little more wobbly as you go along. This could easily be solved by various solutions from a hardware store. I may just put some gorilla glue or something on the screws and re-tighten them. I'm also considering just reinforcing the chairs in general with some extra brackets and screws. And maybe nuclear power.TIPs:I put a polyethylene coating (clear coat) on it to help protect it. Unfortunately I started with the brush on stuff, which I hate and am terrible with because I always get those extra globs. Then I moved on to the spray can. If I did it again I'd just use the spray stuff and put 10-45 coats on the top.Summary:If you're not trying to host fancy dinner parties, this set is awesome for its functionality. If you later pair the table with nicer chairs you could probably convince people the table alone cost $1000+. Read Less
